The Q&A Archives: Stachys Big Ears

Question: Will the deer eat big ear stachys. Will I need to plant them inside of my deer fence or may I plant them outside of my deer fence?

Answer: Stachys byzantina, or Lamb's Ears, are not on the list of popular deer food, so they should be safe if planted outside the deer fence. The wooly texture of the leaves seems to deter nibbling.
