A number of years ago I had some black dahlia bulbs. It seems that none of the mainstream sources carry this color. DOoyou know of any source for these extremely large dark flowers?

Pinetree Garden Seeds http://www.superseeds.com/ offers "Thomas Edison" which is described as being nearly black although it is purple. Chesterfield Dahlia Farm http://www.dahliafarm.com/inde... offers "Rip City", described as burgundy to almost black. Since there are so many named dahlias and since color is somewhat open to interpretation, it might be difficult to locate the same exact plant without knowing its name. There is a listing of dahlia suppliers thanks to the Colorado Dahlia Society at http://www.dahlias.net/dahwebp... if you want to check to see what they offer -- maybe you'll find it again!
