The surface roots on my Live Oak have grown very close to my house. I'm afraid they will start causing foundation problems. What time of year can I remove them without harming the tree?

Gene,

You can remove a root each year to begin taking out those roots a few feet from the foundation of your home. The best time is in late fall, although now is also alright. Just don't remove a lot of roots at one time.

Thanks and good luck with your trees!
