I am about to start some seeds indoors using a wicking system. I plan to put the trays in a window with southern exposure. I have read seedlings need 8-12 hours of bright light. Will the natural light be enough?

In my experience seedlings do best with ample bright light for between 14 and 16 hours a day, especially if they are sun-loving plants in the garden. For this reason many gardeners use supplemental light for their seedlings.
