I purchased some seeds from a craft fair this fall named Texas star. I have not been able to find this in any of my books. Have you ever heard of this plant? I would like to harvest my own seed pods for crafts. |
Texas Star, sometimes called Star of Texas is Xanthisma, a cheerful annual native to Texas and grown for its wealth of large, bright yellow, daisylike flowers. Sow your seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost in your area, or outdoors in early spring. Just barely cover the seeds. Your seeds will tak 25 to 30 days to germinate when kept at 70 to 75F. The plants will thrive in a sunny spot in light, sandy, well-drained soil, but will tolerate poor, dry soil. |
