| I have some packages of Spencer type sweetpea seeds which I bought several months ago, and there are no planting directions on the envelopes. Is it too late to plant them now (February)? If so, can I keep them and plant them later this year? |
| Sweetpeas are often sown in autumn in your gardening region, but you can still plant them now (in late winter). The seeds germinate best in cool soils. I'd sow them now rather than store them until next autumn. Soak the seeds overnight in water, or chip the seedcoats prior to planting. Then plant each 1/2" deep and water often enough to keep the soil moist but not soggy wet. Seedlings should appear in 20-30 days. |
