The Q&A Archives: Full Sun Impatiens

Question: Over the years I have purchased flats of sun impatiens, not New Guinea impatiens. A local greenhouse sells these flowers. The greenhouse can't understand why more people don't seed these along with the regular shade impatiens, and either can I. I would like to seed these myself. Where can I get seeds?

Answer: The perennial sun-loving species of Impatiens aren't as popular as the shade-loving annuals, so the plants and seeds are sometimes difficult to find. I agree with you - if more people grew the perennial impatiens, they'd learn to love them!

Seeds are available from Thompson & Morgan, PO Box 1308, Jackson, NJ 08527-0308.
