I have what I've been told is Angel Trumpet. It's not a vine though. They don't start to bloom until late June. It's a beautiful large white flower that looks like the end of a trumpet. My question is that each year I take the pods at the end of the season and use those seeds to plant with the next early May. For Angel Trumpet do you have to re-seed each year? I've heard both ways. I also have a lot of seeds and saw one of your questions from someone in Michigan that they were looking for some. I'd be glad to share some. |
Angel Trumpet (datura) is not winter hardy, so you will have to start new plants each year one way or another. It may self seed, but it is more reliable if you start some yourself, too. Many gardeners take cuttings from their best plants and overwinter them indoors; this way they have larger plants to set out the following spring. Unfortunately I can't give you contact information from the Q&A. The National Gardening Association http://www.garden.org has a seed swap for interested gardeners . |
