The Q&A Archives: Planting Depth for Tuberoses

Question: How deep should tuberose tubers be planted? I've searched in all kinds of books, but they only say how far apart to space them. Thanks. Kathy Durbin Owaneco, IL

Answer: Tuberose like to be planted about 6" apart and 2-3 inches below the soil surface. Choose a well drained, "sandy" site with full sun exposure and they should grow fine. They aren't hardy in your area, so you'll need to dig them in fall and store the tubers.
