Direct Sun (hot) Patio Plants - Knowledgebase Question

Please suggest some flowers that will survive direct, very hot sunlight in the summer. These plants would be in pots for our patio, and also planted in ground lining the patio brick wall enclosure.

The following suggestions are heat and drought tolerant, but will perform even better if watered regularly:
Agapanthus, Aloe, Amaryllis belladonna, Artemisia, Coreopsis, Euphorbia, Kniphofia, Liatris, Linum, Oenothera, Phormium, Salvia, Santolina, Stonecrop, Marigold, Verbascum, Watsonia, and Zinna.
