I would like to plant a couple of "Don Juan" red roses in my yard. When is the best time to plant them?

Bare root roses are usually shipped very early in the spring and they should be planted as soon as they arrive. Container grown plants can be planted any time the ground isn't frozen, but they are best planted in early spring or early fall.
