Can Gardenias grow successfully in a container? As they bloom, I would like to move them to different spots on my deck to smell the aroma of the flowers in my house.

Gardenia's (and jasmine, too) adapt well to growing in containers. Choose a pot with several drainage holes on the bottom, fill with potting soil, and plant your gardenia. Keep the soil moist but not soggy wet, and provide bright light (some morning sunshine is okay). Mist the leaves daily to provide the required humidity and your gardenia should bloom beautifully for you.
