I am wondering where ranunculas grow and what type of soil and sun/shade they require. |
Ranunculus prefers a long, cool growing season, and stops blooming when summer heat hits. They must have well-drained soil and don't like to be constantly wet. If you live in a frost-free area, you can plant them in fall for spring bloom. If your soil freezes, plant them as soon as the soil can be worked. You can also plant them in pots. Soak the claw-like tuberous roots in water for an hour or two before planting to speed growth. They like sunny exposures. |
