I live in Pennsylvania and have a dog that runs in my relatively small backyard. The yard is developing a dog run of mud and I can't get any plant's established because the dog runs them over. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix the lawn and what type of plants I can plant that can withstand the dog running amok in the yard?

Unfortunately, I don't know of any plants that can withstand that type of traffic. You might consider paving a portion and then fencing off a planting area to protect it from the dog. Another alternative would be to train the dog to stay out of the planting areas, but this can be a time consuming and demanding task!
