| I know that my dianthus "Helen" is leggy because it does not receive enough sun, however when I move it to its new home can I cut it back to improve its looks, or will it harm the plant to do so??? |
| Ideally you would be transplanting it very early in the spring before it has a chance to grow tall and leggy. Trim it back a bit when you move it to compensate for root disturbance; this plant blooms again and again in response to being cut back or deadheaded so it shouldn't be detrimental to trim it back. |
