I have a Thundercloud plum tree that I planted about 8 months ago. The tree has not died but it has not grown or changed at all. Can you tell me about watering, fertilizing, nutrients and soil PH that this tree needs so maybe I can get it to grow.

This tree is very forgiving (zones 5 to 8, full sun, pH adaptable) and will grow in nearly all types of soil except sopping wet, however a newly planted tree may take some time to settle in before beginning to grow at its maximum possible rate. Mid-summer and fall planted trees usually do not grow much at all until the following spring in any case because they have already made most of their growth for that year prior to being planted. Keep a newly planted tree mulched, water it regularly for the coming season, and you should see some nice growth on it. If you have concerns about your soil, and to find out the best fertilizer to use, run some basic soil tests. Your County Extension (765-4663) should be able to help you with the tests and interpreting the results.
