The Q&A Archives: Liquid Fertilization

Question: How do liquid fertilizers affect germination when used to water the seeds?

Answer: Seeds do not require fertilizing, and the seedlings do not need it until they have several "true" leaves. In some instances fertilizer may burn the tender plant tissues of newly emerging seedlings, so it is better to wait until they have grown a bit before fertilizing. I hope this answers your question.
