I would like to transfer some of the smaller anthuriums that have sprouted in with the mature ones. How do I take them out of the soil? With the whole root or can I cut them at the base and put them in water until the root grows back?

New plants are established by digging the entire plant, then dividing the roots and potting up the separated pieces. When separating, be sure that each piece has roots - they won't develop roots on their own once separated from the parent plant, so don't try to root them in water.

Lucky you to be able to grow an abundance of happy anthuriums!
