I have composted potato peelings and scraps of tomatos and peppers in one of my raised bed areas for three years. This year I would like to plant my raspberries in that area. What special preparation should I give the soil to protect the raspberries from diseases caused by those three vegetables? |
Assuming you did not place diseased material in the compost and assuming it is all well rotted by the time you plant, I would not expect you to need to take special steps any more than you would when using traditional home- made compost. I would expect your raspberries to grow very nicely there, though! |
