I just purchased this plant and cannot find any information on it. Is it an annual? What are its growing conditions?

Diascia, commonly known as Twinspur, is annual in cool climates and perennial in your gardening region. The plants like afternoon shade, and infrequent water during the growing season. Fast-draining soil is important. If soils are wet and heavy the plants won't survive. Hybrids grow to about 1 1/2 ft. tall, with summer flowers in spikelike clusters at the ends of tall stems. The flowers are rich salmon to coral pink in color and have two prominent spurs on the back (hence the name twinspur). Remove spent flowers to prolong blooming.
