I have never planted flowers before. I was thinking of using one of those rolled up things with all the different kinds of flowers in them. I think I can get something like that at home depot. When should I plant that, or is there and easier flower I can plant, since I am a beginner?

Since you are a self-described beginner, you might want to read a book or two about flower gardening before you start planting. For a basic guide, I would suggest "Gardening for Dummies" by Michael MacCaskey, ISBN 1-56884-644-4; next, you might look at a book about annuals such as "Annuals for Dummies" by Bill Marken, ISBN 0-7645-5056-X and possibly one about perennials such as "Perennials for Dummies" by Marcia Tatroe, ISBN 0-7645-5030-6. (All from Dummy Press.)

In each of these you will find straightforward information about site selection, soil preparation, how to select plants that will do well in the location you want to use and on maintaining them once you've planted them.

Enjoy your flowers!
