Can grow a Monstera deliciosa outside in Florida's hot summer climate, or should I keep it indoors? How much light/sun, how often to water and fertilize, and what other care does it need? |
Split-leaf philodendron (Monstera deliciosa) will grow outdoors in your gardening region. Provide filtered shade and rich, moist soil. Water regularly during the warmest months and fertilize spring through summer with a diluted liquid fertilizer every 3-4 weeks. As the plant matures the lower leaves will drop. Disguise the bear stem by planting another smaller plant near the base, or reduce the height by cutting back which will encourage new leaf growth at the base of the plant. |
