| My Euonymus which were planted over five years ago have suddenly started to sicken. The bright green leaves have started to turn yellow on two out of my three Euonymus which were planted together in front of a low retaining wall. About two years ago in the middle of the summer they did develop a mold which we sucessfully treated. Since then they had been doing very nicely. What would cause them to suddenly develop these yellow leaves in the middle of the winter? They are looking quite bad now. What should I do? They were expensive and I do not wish to lose them. |
| I am assuming these are the fortunei type of euonymous. Based on your description I am not sure what is happening, but some types, such as "Manhattan," will lose even more leaves during the winter than usual following a dry fall. It is also possible that they are suffering some type of pest problem which is only now becoming apparent. You might want to take some samples to your county extension (285-4630) for a more specific identification of the problem. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. |
