The Q&A Archives: English Primrose

Question: I saw English Primroses growing in containers outside Las Vegas hotels. They had them in their local garden center as bedding plants but I have not been able to find them in Florida or in any seed catalog. I would like them for planting around containerized palm trees on my covered screened patio. These plants had such vivid colors contrasted by another vivid color center, unlike other varieties of primrose. Can you tell me how I can get them?

Answer: Seeds for those exceptionally attractive primroses (Primula) can be purchased from Thompson & Morgan, Inc., PO Box 1308, Jackson, NJ 08527-0308. Phone 800-274-7333.
