I have a "kikuyugrass" lawn (it is actually a local weed). Do you have any suggestion on how to care for it?

Kikuyugrass is a member of the Poaceae (blugrass) family. It's a perennial which grows rapidly and aggressively, particularly during the summer months, spreading by rhizomes. Kikuyugrass is an introduced species and is commonly a weed problem in turf and groundcover in California. If you're certain you want to cultivate this plant, treat as any other grass, watering and mowing as needed. It doesn't need feeding, or much encouragement at all! Check with your neighbors first, though, because seeds are prolific from March - October and can be carried by birds or by wind into other areas.
