Scabiosa columbaria, the perennial scabiosa, grows best in full sun, with moderate water throughout the growing season. If you keep spent flowers cut back it will bloom until first frost - or sporadically throughout the winter if you receive no frost. At the end of the season the foliage will die down but new shoots will develop the following spring to begin the process all over again.

Scabiosa is a favorite for cut flower arrangements, or grown in masses along borders. Enjoy your scabiosa!
