Can you recommend some resources (books, websites, etc.) for a beginning gardener with a beautiful 1920s Spanish house and garden in need of redesign and renovation?

There are so very many garden design books out that it's impossible to list them all, but one favorite is "Taylor's Guide to Garden Design" (ISBN# 0-395-46784-5).Another "must have" book is Sunset Western Garden Book (ISBN# 0-376-03851-9). Not only are there suggested plants for all occasions, but the descriptions and cultural requirements are very complete. Finally, for basic gardening information, I consult "Rodale's Organic Gardening Encyclopedia" (ISBN# 0-87596-599-7). These three books will certainly give you a head start in your garden renovation.
