| Could I grow your English Lavender inside or protect it some way? I'd really like to grow some for a potpourri project. I do live in southern Wisconsin. Any suggestions? |
| Lavendula angustifolia (English lavender) is native to the Mediterranean regions of the world and only hardy outdoors in zones 5-8. But, in your zone 4 garden, you can plant in a container with fast-draining soil and keep it outdoors during the summertime. At the end of the season bring the plant indoors, place in a sunny window, keep the night temperatures between 40F and 50F and the day temperatures between 50F and 60F. Water infrequently during the winter. When new leaves begin to develop you can water as needed and take the plant outdoors when the weather warms in the spring. |
