My neighbor recently gave me some gladiola bulbs that she purchased. Neither of us know whether gladiola bulbs multiply like lilies. Also how long after planting should we expect to see blooms?

Glads are considered summer-bloomers. They can bloom anywhere from 60-100 days after planting. They are botanically considered corms, and propagate themselves by producing smaller "cormels" on the edge of the original corm. These can be carefully removed and planted, but usually take 2-3 years to bloom. Enjoy your bulbs!
