I would like to grow small peppers (such as chili peppers) more for ornamental reasons (along with occassional use). My question is that I would like to create a long string of them to hang in the kitchen and am wondering how to do this. I've seen them in stores, along with galic "boughs".

Those chili strands are called "ristras" in Spanish. They are very simple to make. Just use a large needle and sturdy thread/twine to thread them as you would a popcorn strand for a Christmas tree. Thread near the top of the chili. You can make them as long or as short as you wish. Hang them in an airy location and they will dry naturally. You can use the chili for cooking at any time. Have fun!
