WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO PLANT THE TOMATOES IN THE GROUND?

Tomato transplants should be planted once all danger of frost is past and the ground has had time to warm up; nights should be reliably at 45 degrees and above. Planting too early or when it is too cold can stunt them. Seeds will not germinate until the soil reaches about 60 degrees, so keep this in mind if you are starting them from seed directly in the garden.
