| Yes, you can. However, seed starting mix is very light and porous (to encourage root growth in seedlings). As such, it will drain very quickly and the pots may have to be watered more frequently than if you planted your herbs in regular potting soil. If they were my plants, I think I'd fill the pots with moistened potting soil and add a few inches of seed starting mix on top before sowing the seeds. Then, as the seedlings grow, the roots will penetrate down into the more moisture retentive potting soil. |
