The Q&A Archives: Transplanting Marigolds, Petunias

Question: When can I start to transplant my marigolds, petunias and impatiens outdoors? They are getting to big for the peatmoss containers. I'm afraid they are starting to get pot bound. Kristina Shulsky Eatontown, NJ

Answer: You should be able to put your plants out now. The average last date of frost in your area is around April 30th. Just be ready to cover them with an old sheet if a frost is predicted.
