Could you please recommend an evergreen ground cover (or one that looks good for the majority of the year) for these conditions: sloped area, rocky with clay, full sun, zone 7. The area is a transition between my yard and the street and is completely bare. |
You're wise in planting something in the area - without cover you'll end up with a bed of weeds! Sun loving groundcovers include Calluna vulgaris (Scotch heather) Carex comans (New Zealand Hair Sedge), Dryas, Diascia (Twinspur), Helianthemum nummulariium (Sunrose), Glechoma hederacea (Ground Ivy), Euonymus fortunei (Winter Creeper), Lantana, Leucothoe, Oenothera (Evening Primrose), Phlox subulata and Lysimachia nummularia). Hope one of these fits the bill! |
