the best time to plant tomato in a pot what size pot and best planting time and best type plant deck gets about five hours sun a day. |
Your tomato will do best in a very large pot, either a half barrel or perhaps a five gallon bucket. It will also need a stake or trellis of some sort to conserve space. Tomatoes need plenty of sun, and at least six hours including noon is preferred. You might try a cherry tomato since these latter are most tolerant of less than ideal growing conditions. If you plant the tomato from seed, start the seeds indoors about six weeks before your last anticipated frost. Transplants go outside after all danger of frost. (Tomato plants do not tolerate cold.) |
