The Q&A Archives: Pruning Kerria Bushes

Question: When do I prune my 8 feet tall kerria bushes?

Answer: Kerria should be pruned in early spring to remove any winter killed branches, and then thinned as needed after the main spring bloom flush. To keep the plant vigorous, after the spring bloom each year remove a portion of the oldest stems by cutting them close to the ground.
