The Q&A Archives: When To Fertilize Fruit Trees

Question: I want to know when your suppose to fertilize fruit trees. I have a plum tree, apple tree, cherry tree, and apricot tree. Please be specific. I'm live in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Answer: In general, you could apply half of it in March and the other half in June after the fruit has been set. How much and what you need to fertilize with would be determined based on the results of soil tests. Your county extension can help you with the tests and interpreting the results.
