The Q&A Archives: Cross-pollination Of Feed Corn To Sweet Corn

Question: Will my sweet corn be affected by the pollen of feed corn field 15 feet away?

Answer: Unfortunately, corn should be separated by a much wider distance. A field of corn should be at least 100 feet away (further is better). However, you can also combat the problem by timing your planting so that they have at least a ten day difference in their growth stages.
