Answer: Epsom salts contains magnesium, an element often deficient in sandy southern soils. However, without a soil test to verify the need for it, I can't say for sure if your peppers will benefit from such an application.
As a rule of thumb, dissolve a tablespoon or two of Epsom salts in a gallon of water and drench a two-foot diameter area around each plant. You should only have to do this once in a growing season.
