What kind of ground cover plant/flower do you recommend for a souther california area with temps reaching over 90 degrees in the summer? I need something that will cover a large area and is somewhat colorful, requires low maintence and low water - excluding iceplant.

Some of the hardiest groundcovers include Laurentia (Blue Star Creeper), Carex flacca, Chamomile, Vinca, Thyme, Training African Daisy, Evening Primrose, Fragaria (wild strawberry), Ajuga (carpet bugle) and Nepeta (catmint).

Hope one of these suggestions is just what you're looking for!
