I am planting a flower garden and want to include a special plant for each member of my family. I call my husband, Sweet Pea, so this isn't a problem. I ordered a Chocolate Candy geranium for myself, and a "heath" plant for my son Heath, but I am running into difficulty finding a plant (flower, preferably) for my son Shaun. Any suggestions. P.S. His nickname is "Bean" but I prefer not to plant a bean plant in my flower garden.

Unfortunately I can't immediately think of any flowers named Shaun; there are however some interesting bean plants to consider. One is the castor bean which is tropical, large and truly an awesome decorative element -- and does not grow like a bean vine at all. (As a caution since I do not know the age of your children, the seeds are poisonous.) Another is the lovely dolichos lablab or purple hyacinth bean which has beautiful purple flowers and ornamental purple podded beans, defintiely a bean vine worthy of a garden trellis. Maybe you will like one of these.
