Answer: Junipers are fairly salt tolerant but as you discovered there are limits -- unfortunately there is not much you can do except try to keep them as healthy as possible (and do something else with the walk next winter). A spring top dressing of compost would be ideal as would making sure they are adequately watered this summer to help leach the salt. Chemical fertilizers (and also in some cases steer manure) would not be recommended as it contains some salt. Good luck with the shrubs!
