The Q&A Archives: Crabapple Growth

Question: Can you tell how much these two crabapple trees grow a year a HOPA CRABAPPLE and a PRAIRIE FIRE CRABAPPLE. Canyo u tell me if they grow fast and tell me how many inches or feet they grow a year?

Answer: Crabapples in general grow fairly quickly. In full sun and good soil with adequate water and fertility I would expect them to grow about two feet a year or so. Incidentally, however, "Hopa" tends to be a very disease prone tree and I would not expect it to be long lived.
