Developers recently stripped all the trees from behind our back yard. We need sugestion for shrubs we can plant along our back fence that will grow relatively quickly and anywhere from 10 to 15 feet. We are in south central Texas and need somewhat drought-hardy and heat tolerant shrubs. Thank you very much.

Some shrubs to consider include oleander, Frasier photinia (not the standard red tip photinia), or perhaps a clumping (not running) type of bamboo. All such plants need regular watering and some fertilizing the first few years to get them to grow vigorously to the height you want.
