| We have layed a rock walkway, with 3"-4" between rocks. We were told there is a mondo grass that we could plant that only grows 2" - 3" tall that would be perfect between the rocks. We have looked everywhere and cannot find a mondo grass that grows shorter than 6". We live in zone 7, what could we plant between our rocks that would be low maintenance, low growing, and hardy? |
| There are several plants to try that would stay low and grow between rocks. Some to consider would be the various forms of creeping and wooly thymes, mazus reptans, and the old standby, the creeping sedums. Wooly thyme and mazus would do well in shadier areas, the thymes and sedums in more sun, so you might experiment a bit depending on the lighting conditions you have to offer. They are all very hardy. |
