The Q&A Archives: Strawberries

Question: I purchased l0 strawberry plants, the name of the plant is called Kent. Is this an everbearing bloom or does it just bear fruit once a year?

Answer: Kent cultivars are June-bearers. The fruit is firm and mild, excellent for fresh eating, preserves and freezing. This particular cultivar is very cold hardy, making it a good choice for your gardening area. Expect one main harvest from your strawberry plants, with a few berries forming later in the summer.
