| Lavender is technically a woody plant rather than an herbaceous plant. It is grown in temperate climates where the winter temperatures get cold, so it is not designed to be a house plant. I don't want to discourage you, but you need to know this before starting. Now, to keep it indoors, you should keep it actively growing in summer with bright light (full sun if possible), moist soil, average temperatures and dilute fertilization every month. In winter, give it a rest - move it into a very cool part of the house, next to a window if possible and keep the soil much drier. Don't fertilize. Then, in spring, cut it back severely and summer care. Good luck! |
