The Q&A Archives: Full Sun Flowers

Question: I have a flower bed at the front of my house that gets full sun for most of the day. I am looking for some suggestions for flowers that are in the red color family that I could plant in this bed. I need the flowers to be perennials and would like something that would be approximately one foot in width and about one and a half feet in height when it reaches it's full size.

Answer: Here is a list of some red blooming perennials:

Heuchera (many varieties have red bloom), Cardinal Flower, 'Husker Red' Beardtongue, tulips, roses, Achillea 'Summer Wine', Astilbe 'Fanal', Crocosmia, daylily (many varieties are red, one is 'Little Business'), Gaillardia (red with gold trim), lilies, Lobelia 'Ruby Slippers', Peony, Phlox 'Starfire'.
