I found what looks like strawberries in on my lawn. The leaves are exactly like a strawberry plant but smaller. They even trailers like a strawberry plant. The only difference is that it has pretty yellow flowers. Did I find a wild strawberry or a pretty weed? Thank you for your help and your very informative web site.

What you're describing sounds suspiciously like creeping buttercup, a noxious weed in some parts of the country and an obnoxious weed in other parts of the country!

The flowers are pretty, but the plants spread by runners and underground rhizomes. If you don't control the plants by digging them out now, you'll have a yard full by the end of the season!
