How do you get rid of fruit borers on cherry tree? Are there any home remedies, do nurseries carry this pesticide or do I need to hire a tree service?

Although there is one home remedy that people report success with, which is to poke a wire into the holes and stab the borer to death, it is probably a better idea to consult with your local county extension (526-6293) to verify the exact problem with the tree and then, based on that information, determine the most up to date recommendations for treating the problem and whether or not it is something you want to take on or if you would prefer to hire someone to do it. In some cases, it may be found that the tree was attacked by borers because it was already weakened in some other way and so is not healthy overall. If this is the case, there may be more that needs to be done to help the tree beyond eliminating the borers and they should be able to help you determine this. Good luck with your tree!
